SearchGPT returns answers with source links and supports follow-up questions. The conversational interface resembles Perplexity AI.

The system’s ability to understand natural language and context allows for follow-up questions, creating a more intuitive and interactive search experience. Additionally, SearchGPT’s real-time access to web information ensures up-to-date responses, particularly valuable for current events and rapidly changing topics.

SearchGPT offers several key functionalities:

- It provides conversational responses to user queries, allowing for natural follow-up questions and building context with each interaction.
- The system delivers fast, precise answers by combining AI models with real-time web information, ensuring up-to-date results.

## Release Timeline
As I mentioned earlier, this tool is in the prototype phase, and no official release date has been announced.

OpenAI is testing the AI-powered search engine with a select group of approximately 10,000 users and publishers to gather feedback. The company has stated its intention to eventually integrate the best features of SearchGPT directly into ChatGPT, rather than maintaining it as a separate tool.

OpenAI has not specified how long the testing period will last or when broader access might be granted.
